Ethereum’s $2,565 Technical Level Draws Focus as ETF Outflows and Cryptographic Risk Emerge

A KuCoin-republished AMBCrypto report said $2,565 is Ethereum’s technical area to watch, with conditional levels above and below it. Separate reports gave ETF-flow figures for Oct. 6, 2026, and May through early June 2026.

A KuCoin-republished AMBCrypto report said $2,565 is Ethereum’s next important area to watch; if Ether holds that level, the report points to $2,625-$2,650, while a break below it would expose $2,500 and the $2,380-$2,400 area.

A report republished on KuCoin said Ethereum ETFs recorded $201.89 million in outflows on October 6, 2026, while Bitcoin ETFs recorded inflows; this was a single-day figure, separate from the monthly statistics in other reports.

Market estimates cited by IG indicated that U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded cumulative net outflows of more than $2.4 billion in May 2026, including more than $400 million in the final weeks of May 2026. IG’s report said that, by early June 2026, the trend of institutional flows favoring Bitcoin seemed to have suddenly reversed.

IG reported that higher U.S. Treasury yields, geopolitical uncertainty and concerns that interest rates could remain high for an extended period led investors to reduce exposure to risk assets and caused outflows from Ethereum ETFs.

Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake raised a possible scenario: AI could produce mathematicians 100 times stronger than human mathematicians, discover hidden structures in elliptic curves and break existing cryptography. This is a hypothetical scenario proposed by the researcher, not a reported cryptographic break.
Drake said Ethereum’s cryptographic roadmap must be not only post-quantum secure but also post-AI secure.

Ethereum.org described the interview as covering Ethereum’s post-quantum roadmap and existential risks, and said the page is a readable version of the original video transcript. The AI scenario above is a potential cryptographic threat raised by the researcher, not a reported attack or vulnerability.
