Microsoft has introduced a new Copilot centered on Home, Code and Autopilot, with Word, Excel and PowerPoint integrated directly into it.

Home brings Chat and Cowork together in one entry point, while Code lets users create applications and automations using natural language.

Autopilot can continue handling tasks independently while a user is away from the computer. A third-party roundup said Autopilot was formerly known as Scout and has its own tenant identity, memory and workspace.

Microsoft said Home and Code will roll out gradually through the Frontier program over the coming weeks, while Autopilot will expand to private preview by the end of the month.

Microsoft said Fabric IQ, Work IQ and a new Plugin Registry will allow Copilot to use organizational data, business processes and applications more broadly.

A third-party roundup said Cowork, Code, Autopilot and some frontier models are billed by usage, while users’ subscriptions cover ordinary quick answers and first-draft tasks.
